Ready to Tailgate

Hopefully, Isaac will have moved out of MS by Saturday and we can enjoy being with family and friend at MSU. We love to eat and hang out. No better way to do that than tailgating all day in Starkville. Feel free to come by and say hello. We’ll be in Lot 36 with these banners up.

Sporting Events

We attended 4 sporting events on our vacation. The home team won all 4. We saw 2 soccer matches: the Houston Dynamo play Sporting KC & FC Dallas play Portland Timbers. And we saw 2 baseball games: Fort Worth Cats play San Angelo Colts & Texas Rangers play Boston Red Sox. Here’s some photos from those games.

Joe T. Garcia’s

In the Davis Family’s opinion, Joe T. Garcia’s is the best Mexican restaurant in the world. We ate there on our vacation with our friends, Anthony and Allison Kirchner. I think the last time we ate there was at their wedding rehearsal dinner a few years ago.

The menu is simple. You have basically two choices. They serve a Family-Style dinner…two cheese nachos as appetizers, two cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, two beef tacos, guacamole, corn tortillas, chips and hot sauce. Or you can order Beef/Chicken Fajitas…grilled tenderloin/grilled chicken breast, rice, beans, guacamole, flour tortillas, pico-de-gallo, chips and hot sauce.

Joe T. opened in 1935 and is located close to the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. They can seat around 2,000. There’s seating inside and outside. Most like the outside seating because of the tropical garden atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable, but only cash is accepted. If you’re ever in the Fort Worth area, don’t hesitate to try it out.

Dead Sea Scolls

On our summer vacation, we had the privilege of touring the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Here’s some photos we took.
